Tizia & Tini
Founders
Tini and Tizia founded Nyumbani Hostel in 2015. Tizia has lived in Tanzania for almost a decade, she is your first contact person, who answers emails/phone calls and plans safaris and trips with you.
Tini is a tour guide by profession who loves nature and has extensive safari experience. He also has mountain climbing experience and has summited both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. He also works to ensure the hostel runs smoothly so our guests feel comfortable.
Glory
Hostel Manager
Glory is the hostel manager at Nyumbani Hostel. She is your first point of contact if you require any help, support, or advice during your stay. She will welcome you to our hostel and show you around. She is an Arusha native and is happy to answer all your questions about Arusha, life in Tanzania, day trips, safaris, and mountain climbs. Glory speaks English and Swahili. She loves horror movies, so if you have a favorite let her know!
Venance
Driver & Guide
Venance is our driver and will be the first person you meet at the airport upon arrival. He is a qualified tour guide who speaks English, Swahili and French fluently, and is currently learning German. Venance will be happy to show you around Arusha. He knows the town and its surroundings very well and is happy to answer any questions you may have.

There is no Nyumbani Hostel party at our Sunset Bar without Denis. He is the best when it comes to mixing drinks and preparing Cocktails. It's always fun to be around him! He also takes care of the weekly movie nights. Furthermore, he sleeps in the hostel making sure everything is fine at night.​
Elizabeth's mission is for you to feel welcomed and at home. In our little Nyumbani Spa, she offers massages, manicures, pedicures, and waxing. If Elizabeth is not busy pampering one of our guests she helps out at the bar.

Do enjoy our fresh and delicious food? Give a big thanks to Samson, he wakes up early in the morning ensuring you will be served a fresh and hot breakfast. In the evening he cooks delicious local Tanzanian and western food. If you have a tasty recipe to share, he will appreciate it! In his free time, Samson loves to create and listen to music.
Together they combine more than two decades of experience in housekeeping working with us from the beginning in 2015. Our three housekeepers speak English and Swahili and are happy to assist when you need new bedsheets, towels, or your laundry to be done.
Ramadha
Groundskeeper
If you love the beautiful grass, flowers, and trees around the hostel, thank Ramadha! He also takes care of the pool keeping it ready for a swim. In his free time, he enjoys relaxing at home.
Joseph
Watchman
Joseph makes sure we are safe at the night. He opens the gate when you come late from eating outside or partying. He is a father of five and in his free time loves to spend time with his children.
